Tree placing script

Hello. I would like to place trees through script, able to choose the type of tree (bamboo, palm, ...). I can load the assets, make the mouse click get the terrain position, but don't know what to do after that. How to make the chosen tree get to the terrain, instantiate it to the right position. Didn't find enough documentation about it.
